Jack Barclay really helped the party season get into full swing with a series of special events this winter. From luxury evenings to fashion shows, book launches to award ceremonies, there was something to entertain everyone at the iconic Berkeley Square showroom.
On 18th November, Jack Barclay hosted the launch of Bentley Brooklands - The Book. Paying homage to the rare and special car, the book celebrates the craftsmanship, coach building skills and painstaking hand finished detail that goes into each Grand Tourer, of which there are just 438 examples worldwide.
Former F1 star Mark Blundell and fashion guru Jeremy Hackett were among the 300-plus guests to catch the first glimpse of the limited edition ‘The Bentley Brooklands’ book. Available in two versions, there will be a ‘Standard’ version and a ‘Special’ edition, to be published in strictly limited numbers, is bound in high-quality burgundy Pasubio leather to match the interior of the featured car. In addition, it has a velvet-lined, burgundy Pasubio leather-covered slipcase and foil blocking on front and spine.
Just one week later, Jack Barclay hosted the London première of the new Continental GT to an audience of Bentley owners and fans. Supported by Bentley Motors’ styling team who were on hand to present the car in detail, the event allowed guests the early opportunity to see the hugely successful Continental GT’s successor in the flesh for the first time.
The launch was combined with the dealership’s annual Night of Luxury, which this year proved to be the most popular event in the Jack Barclay social calendar, leading the team to once again hold the event over two days. On 24th and 25th November more than 550 people attended the exhibition of some of the most luxurious items against a backdrop of the impressive Bentley range.
Partners involved in the event included Italian luxury jeweller Damiani; watch manufacturers Breitling and Patek Philippe; Diagio which showcased its Johnnie Walker brand; manufacturers of some of the finest motor yachts, Princess; Haute Couture fashion house, House of Worth; and submarine manufacturers U-Boat Worx. Sommeliers from Eminent Wines Limited treated guests to tastings of award winning wines from around the world.
Financial News chose the Jack Barclay showroom to mark the publication of its top 100 executives under the age of 40 working in the financial sector. The showroom was transformed for the FN100 Rising Stars 2010 drinks reception on 6th December which attracted over 150 guests.
Most recently, on 8th December Bespoke suit maker Terence Trout chose the Jack Barclay showroom to showcase the latest collection. The glamorous evening was attended by some of Terrence Trout’s most devout followers including Colin Jackson, Alex Reid, Cheryl Baker, and classical group Blake. After-show entertainment included a burlesque dancer and acrobats scaling the showroom’s 20 foot high walls.
Derek Bennett, Jack Barclay’s general manager, says the events were hugely successful. “The Mayfair showroom has been the venue for many diverse events this year providing a unique backdrop and atmosphere. Its heritage, opulence and fantastic location are all qualities which make it appealing as a venue and we look forward to welcoming many more guests next year.”
